Connecting BIM And World Class Design With Powerful Revit Plugins
One of our absolute favourite moments of Autodesk University 2024 was when Alfonso took the stage and shared how to connect BIM and the World Class Design of Heatherwick Studios.
We are incredibly grateful and inspired after Alfonso Monedero from Heatherwick Studio took the stage at Autodesk University to share their innovative approach to BIM and sustainable design. It’s been a privilege for us at Reope to be part of Heatherwick's journey, developing cutting-edge architectural technology that has transformed how software like Revit and Rhino support their workflow and helped them tackle some of the toughest challenges in the AEC industry.
At Heatherwick Studio, using advanced analytics and parametric design isn't just a trend—it's fundamental to achieve the design philosophy of soulful buildings. Since 2020, we've been collaborating closely with their team to build custom solutions that make BIM and architectural technology work seamlessly for them. It was phenomenal to hear Alfonso share highlights form this journy at the largest conference in the world covering technology for architects and engineers. Here's three of the things we've been working on together:
- BIM Pulse: Quality assurance and control are critical, especially when dealing with complex, sustainable architecture projects. BIM Pulse leverages AI to provide a visual overview, making QA/QC processes smoother, faster, and more intuitive. By integrating AI in architecture, it minimizes errors and enhances efficiency, allowing the team to focus on innovative and eco-friendly designs instead of getting bogged down in spreadsheets. - AutoDocs: Documentation can be a time-consuming hurdle, particularly in projects utilizing parametric design. AutoDocs automates the creation of sheets, views, and templates, streamlining workflows and saving valuable time. This empowers Heatherwick's team to dedicate more energy to crafting iconic, sustainable spaces that push the boundaries of architectural technology.
- DigiPin: Collaborative design is essential in today's interconnected world. DigiPin, our Revit-to-Miro exporter, breaks down barriers by making design reviews accessible to everyone—including those not using Revit. This tool enhances collaboration between architects, engineers, and stakeholders, fostering a holistic approach to sustainable architecture and innovative design solutions.
We’re proud to have been part of Heatherwick's transformation through the integration of advanced architectural technology. Our collaboration is far from over. The team at Heatherwick Studio has always pushed the boundaries of what's possible, and we're excited to continue developing tools that support their creative vision and commitment to sustainable architecture.
