We upskilled the BIM team at O'Mahoney Pike Architects
in Dynamo, Python and C# over the course of a 2 month long workshop. Training sessions were held weekly with homework challenges given to all participants.
The training was done in 3 modules:1. Basic + Intermediate Dynamo2. Basic Dynamo Python + PyRevit3. Introduction to C#
We emphasized the clarity, pace, and personal interaction of the training, so that each participant got something valuable out of the sessions, regardless of skill level. We strategically planned the introduction sessions for each new language to be 4-6 hours long, so that participants could get a deep-dive into the topics to start with. After that, each subsequent session on the topic was for 2 hours.
We got excellent feedback from everyone involved, below are just a few quotes:"I personally thought the session was excellent. It was delivered at a really good pace, very clearly and there was good interaction with all participants. I thought we would get through more but I had forgotten how much learning the fundamentals require, which was clear from the questions. You covered elements in a few hours that probably took me a few weeks to get my head around crashing through on my own. I spoke with a few of the coordinators yesterday and they felt like they had learned a lot, were mentally fried afterwards (a good sign) and found the session exceeded expectations"
